Scalp Micropigmentation [SMP], also known as hair tattooing, provides an excellent hair loss solution for both men and women. It has been proven to be a safe and effective, non-surgical technique that reproduces the look of natural hair. Clients are left with the appearance of a closely shaven head, or in the case of thinning hair – a thicker, fuller head of hair, masking the scalp with the appearance of hair follicles.
SMP provides a convincing illusion even if you suffer from a skin disorder, Alopecia, scarring from surgery or an accident, pattern baldness and thinning hair. SMP is most likely the answer for you.
Hassle free Procedure
Whilst other temporary solutions such as hair transplants, hair systems, concealers provide an option to disguise baldness – they can generally be high maintenance and painful. Scalp Micropigmentation is a permanent, stylish and a hassle-free procedure. It allows baldness to be camouflaged totally.
Scalp Dr. is home to James Hannah as the Senior Practitioner, he is qualified to help you with your needs. Scalp Dr. will deliver the best, completely natural looking results unrivaled anywhere in the world.
How does SMP work?
Medical hair tattooing also referred to as Scalp Micropigmentation (or SMP for short), is a remarkable non-invasisive procedure. Natural pigments are applied at the epidermal level of the skin via micro needles. This reproduces the natural appearance of hair at a very short length.

Organic Naturally formulated scalp pigments
As hair follicles don't naturally grow in the same directions, our practitioners take the time to fully observe and reproduce your unique hair pattern. Different shades of pigment are used to create the most realistic hairline for you. At Scalp Dr., we only use Alivio Pigment, It is an organic, naturally formulated pigment.
Fast healing
These pigments have been fully tested and comply with COE ResAP (2008) 1 standards. Due to the pigment being organic and non-acrylic based, they allow the scalp to hold colour better and to heal faster. I have only used this pigment and believe it to be the best Scalp Micropigmentation pigment in the world.
Suitable for all types of hairloss
The SMP treatment is suitable for all types of hair loss, on all skin colours and types and can be undertaken at any age above 18. Your unique treatment is normally completed over the duration of 3 sessions, each lasting 3 – 4 hours on average. This allows for a gradual and natural build up of hair density, matched to your existing hair typically on your sides and below the crown. It is imperative to have a Practitioner who understands the importance of 'blending in' the Hair Tattoo treatment into the existing hair in order to create a seamless flow.
